About the position

The Finance Director at American Trailer World, Inc. is a pivotal role designed for a high-caliber finance professional aiming for future CFO opportunities. This position involves significant interaction with various business functions, including Strategy, Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Administration, all through a financial lens. The role encompasses financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with a focus on optimizing business performance and supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for manufacturing business unit financial planning, both tactically and strategically, through budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare regular business forecasts and monitor and influence performance against them.
  • Generate reporting around key performance indicators and influence business leaders to continually optimize the metrics.
  • Monitor location-level performance including communicating and coordinating regularly with senior leadership to ensure proper operating cadence is established and maintained.
  • Provide regular analysis and presentation of profitability, focusing not only on the what but also the why to ensure root causes are understood and acted upon.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects which may include areas such as product and channel growth initiatives, working capital versus sales opportunity optimization, freight efficiency, facilities capacity planning and optimization, and location invest/divest decisions.
  • Support annual strategic planning activities.
  • Support due diligence on and integration of potential acquisitions.
  • Manage projects to drive better financial performance, including defining project goals, generating timelines, influencing cross-functional subject matter experts, presenting proposed solutions to senior leadership, and supporting implementation of plans.
  • Ensure month-end results and associated reporting are properly communicated and analyzed.
  • Clearly link financial results to operations performance drivers, generating alternatives and driving positive change.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an analytical role supporting financial and operations decisions.
  • Experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity preferred.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills are required.
