About the position

The Finance Director at Angelwood, Inc. is responsible for partnering with the Chief Executive Officer to set long-term financial goals and develop strategies to achieve these objectives. This role involves managing the organization's financial operations, producing financial statements and reports, and advising the CEO on financial decisions. The Finance Director will also oversee internal controls and compliance requirements while supervising various financial functions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, property inventory, budgeting, and financial statement functions.
  • Analyze and present financial reports accurately and timely, communicating monthly and annual financial statement variances.
  • Collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments and oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process with external auditors.
  • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO.
  • Manage and forecast cash flow to support operational requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to contract billing and accounts receivable collection schedules.
  • Implement a robust contracts management, grant reporting, and financial management reporting system.
  • Update, improve, and implement necessary business policies and accounting practices.
  • Assist the CEO with budget preparation.
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Manage all accounting in the QuickBooks system, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statements, and fixed assets.
  • Oversee payroll processing with the current payroll processing company.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5 years of related experience in accounting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP.
  • Non-profit experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
