About the position

This internship position focuses on improving inventory control processes within the Finance Team at Clarios. The role involves enhancing documentation related to cycle counts, lead receiving processes, and inventory statistics. The intern will assist in creating standard work procedures, monitor employee attendance, and support payroll processes, all while collaborating with supply chain and finance teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency in inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Improve inventory control documentation including cycle count adherence, root cause identification, and action plans.
  • Enhance lead receiving and cycle count processes.
  • Update inventory stats template and ensure locations and thresholds are correct.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and month-end activities.
  • Assist in creating standard work procedures for the Finance Team.
  • Monitor employee punches daily and develop procedures to minimize missed punches.
  • Assist in weekly payroll processes.
  • Partner with supply chain to ensure cycle counting is completed and follow up for adjustments outside of tolerance.
  • Implement weekly monitoring of adherence to cycle count policies.
  • Create written documentation of receiving and counting processes and receipt review templates.
  • Update inventory state template with correct locations and thresholds.
  • Ensure the template is provided to the team weekly and verify actions are taken by operations to correct inventory balances.
  • Participate in month-end close activities and analysis/reporting of results.
  • Work with the Plant Finance Team to identify process gaps or inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Assist Finance and Production Control in creating effective processes for accurate inventory and cycle counts.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Added plant experience in special projects outside of Finance including Operations and Shipping and Distribution.
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
