About the position

The position involves managing the development and implementation process of financial system-related projects from design and development to production. The role requires planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and budgets. This includes planning and managing schedules, monitoring budget and spending, and creating project plans that document and monitor tasks, milestone dates, deliverables, status, timeline, and resource allocation. The individual will oversee quality control of the project, identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team, and develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations. Building and managing relationships with vendors and functional business units is also a key aspect of this role. The responsibilities include managing multiple financial system-related projects, collaborating with functional area managers to determine needs and expectations, and leading or participating in assessment and design team activities. The individual will be responsible for capturing requests, ideas, and opportunities for financial system enhancements and new implementations, presenting these to management, and supporting the Director in the development, management, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate systems, projects, services, staff, and budgets. The role also involves creating and executing project work plans, managing day-to-day operational aspects of the project, and ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. The individual will develop best practices and tools for project execution and management, manage vendor relationships, and utilize resources in a matrix management environment. Staying abreast of new and emerging industry practices is essential, as is managing the project budget and determining appropriate resources needed for project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple financial system related projects.
  • Collaborate with functional area managers to determine needs and expectations for project deliverables.
  • Lead and/or participate in assessment and design team activities.
  • Capture requests, ideas, and opportunities for financial system enhancements and new implementations.
  • Support the Director in the development, management, implementation, and evaluation of systems, projects, services, staff, and budgets.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.
  • Communicate ideas effectively in one-to-one situations, small groups, and before large audiences.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships.
  • Utilize resources in a matrix management environment.
  • Identify and resolve project issues and implement improvement plans to ensure project stays on schedule and within budget.
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging industry practices.
  • Manage project budget and determine appropriate resources needed for project completion.
  • Capture ideas or requests, categorizing them for opportunity improvement and innovation.
  • Anticipate and manage deviations from a plan or schedule; keep all participants and stakeholders informed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or its International Equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technologies, Accounting or Related Field.
  • Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of experience with project management and managing systems and programs.
  • Demonstrated mastery with software development life cycle, third party software analysis and selection, and software implementation standards.
  • Extensive experience with implementation of enterprise software applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, and collaborate with others.
  • Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with business analysis, project management, process development and execution.
  • Knowledge of project management software and other technologies.
  • Understanding of technical product development.
  • Ability to adapt and resolve problems/issues to bring project to completion.
  • Knowledge of concepts, theories, practices and procedures with information technology project management.
