About the position

The Finance Manager for AWS Containers & Serverless Compute at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a pivotal role responsible for full P&L management and business partnering. This position involves close collaboration with finance management and key business partners across AWS to drive financial analysis, controllership, and strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will implement core financial processes, support new business initiatives, and provide insights that influence the future of AWS products in cloud computing.

Responsibilities

• Build out and enhance P&L models, develop business insights and KPI dashboards, and lead ad hoc analyses.
• Support new business initiatives/products/feature launches; understand cost models and drive pricing decisions.
• Provide revenue deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business team leaders.
• Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, including short and long range financial/operational forecasts, and communicating results to senior management.
• Manage financial controllership, lead reviews of financial metrics, analyze variances, synthesize key business drivers, and communicate them to senior management in business terms.

Requirements

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
• 5+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
• 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
• Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of SQL/ETL
• MBA, or CPA
• 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
