About the position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager for a high-growth service team. This role will own end-to-end finance support including P&L management, operational and financial planning, customer analyses, strategic growth analyses, and new feature pricing/modeling. The Finance Manager will partner with service leaders to measure and drive improvement in financial performance, requiring a high level of judgment and a self-starter mentality to deliver financial results for the business and for Amazon as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Own financial partnership for an AWS service end to end, influencing business decisions that drive revenue, operating expense, and/or capital expenditures.
  • Lead financial planning; build complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance.
  • Support strategic new feature launches and ad-hoc requests from finance and business leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
  • Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
