About the position

The Finance Manager - CAPEX / Cloud and Artificial Intelligence position is a pivotal role within the Cloud Network Infrastructure finance team, which is at the forefront of the company's cloud-first strategy. This team is dedicated to building out cloud infrastructure while simultaneously driving down the unit cost of capacity, ensuring that cloud services achieve gross margin growth and market expansion. As a Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of cloud products by partnering with Cloud Operations & Innovation and Azure Networking. Your financial leadership will be essential as you support the cloud supply chain, providing fiber across the data center fleet to enable customers to achieve more. In this role, you will be expected to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Interconnection, Planning & Acquisition, Networking, and Finance, to forecast and plan network fiber inventory requirements based on business demand and growth projections. You will facilitate the finance rhythm of business, orchestrating budget, forecast, Long Range Planning (LRP), monthly close, workforce planning, and resource allocation alignment with corporate and Margin Strategy & Investment Optimization (MSIO) timelines. Clear communication of required deliverables and timely facilitation of reviews with leadership will be key responsibilities. Additionally, you will lead the analysis of inventory data, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization, efficiency improvement, and process enhancement. Ensuring inventory accuracy and integrity through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities will be part of your duties, as will providing analysis and simulations to support strategic initiatives focused on inventory strategy. You will also ensure that monthly financial results are stated accurately and in accordance with company policies, maintaining adequate internal controls and continuously improving processes to drive automation, efficiency, prioritization, and cross-team collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan network fiber inventory requirements based on business demand and growth projections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Prior project management experience and leadership skills.
  • Thorough and detail-oriented with the ability to handle ambiguity and uncertainty in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and prioritize as needed.
  • Proficient partnering capabilities, collaborative and inclusive when working with others.
  • Proficient financial modeling and presentation skills.
