About the position

Corporate Accounting Revenue Assurance team is looking for a skilled, motivated Finance Manager - Corporate Accounting professional with a drive to ensure complete and accurate financial results. The Corporate Accounting Reporting and Analysis team focuses on defining revenue recognition policy across products and programs, enhancing and consulting on system integration and design, researching GAAP revenue recognition questions and analyzing and reporting consolidated financial results. This position will focus on controllership activities related to Per User products and services (such as Windows, Office, and Dynamics). This individual contributor position requires a collaborative and motivated individual who enjoys working closely with business partners to deeply understand business strategy and related processes. This position provides visibility to senior management across our business groups as well as an opportunity to work with a great team of professionals experienced in technical accounting. This is a work-hybrid position from one of our Redmond WA, Atlanta GA, or Reston VA offices.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews complex accounting records in compliance with accounting policies and guidelines.
  • Completes month-end close activities and owns content for Monthly Business Review/Quarterly Business Review leadership presentations.
  • Assists in internal and external audit queries.
  • Reviews and maintains Operational and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and monthly inter-Systems reconciliations.
  • Develops a solid understanding of end-to-end processes, data flows, control environment, and financial systems supporting Online Commercial revenue.
  • Drives end to end risk assessment activities and investigations of identified system and financial issues within the end-to-end reporting processes.
  • Works proactively with various business and engineering partners to solve open issues and ensure risks are mitigated with appropriate financial processes and sound internal controls.
  • Designs and executes manual processes to bridge any system gaps that both planned and unplanned.
  • Develops relationships with business partners and takes a leadership role on cross-group initiatives to improve business and reporting processes and solve problems.
  • Provides guidance to stakeholders to ensure all risks and issues are appropriately captured, mitigated, and managed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 2+ years accounting or finance experience OR Master's Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, or related field AND 1+ year(s) accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Proven US GAAP knowledge and experience, with emphasis on ASC 606.
  • Ability to collaborate and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, and creating effective partnerships.
  • Ability to effectively scope accounting issues, apply the relevant accounting knowledge base, and make decisions with conviction.
  • Experience in business partnering and cross-group collaboration.
  • Experience with financial and analytical data, progress delivery, and data presentation skills to all levels.
  • Must be a self-starter, well organized, adaptable, and able to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4+ years related work experience, preferably a mix of tech companies and public accounting.
  • Significant experience in software and technology industry is a plus.
  • CPA or equivalent preferred.

Benefits

  • Base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $75,100 - $148,900 per year.
  • Different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, is USD $98,800 - $163,300 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
