About the position

The Finance Manager at AT&T Global Public Sector is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of finance staff in various financial operations, including month-end close responsibilities, customer reporting, and invoice processing. This role involves managing financial reporting, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations in a government contracting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, mentors, and trains a team of finance staff to assist in month-end close responsibilities, customer reporting, and invoice processing.
  • Supports the monthly closing requirements including revenue recognition, cost and expense reporting, P&L, and balance sheet management.
  • Manages responses to external and internal audit requests.
  • Oversees and reports annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and associated financial analysis.
  • Maintains an efficient cost control system to monitor and control contractual direct costs and associated indirect costs.
  • Tracks capital asset financing agreements.
  • Prepares reports and presents findings and recommendations to management.
  • Monitors and reports on business performance at multiple levels and in response to ad hoc reporting.
  • Proactively communicates actual or potential trends and material events.
  • Monitors and approves program travel requests while finding efficiencies and cost savings opportunities.
  • Handles ad hoc tasking related to customer inquiries, process improvement efforts, and other one-off tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Seven (7) years' experience with financial planning, analysis, and operations in a government contracting setting, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strong desktop skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access).
  • Knowledge and experience with FAR, CAS, and GAAP compliance.
