About the position

The Finance Operations Business Partnership (BP) team at Amazon is seeking a Finance Manager to play a crucial role in driving worldwide Retail procure-to-pay and order-to-cash performance. This position involves developing and maintaining operational and business metrics, conducting global operational reviews, and implementing improvements to achieve financial targets. The Finance Manager will collaborate with various operational groups and stakeholders to enhance cash flow, productivity, and overall financial performance in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define key performance indicators and develop operational and business metrics for programs and processes.
  • Consolidate inputs and challenge assumptions on performance drivers and projections from stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships between Finance Operations, Service Centers, and Retail.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for improved cash flow, margin, or productivity improvements related to vendor payments and receivables.
  • Solve critical vendor, process, and system escalations effectively to ensure root cause analysis and effective problem resolution.
  • Identify and quantify financial and operational risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
  • 6+ years of experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • 6+ years of experience building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making.
  • 6+ years of experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL and experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
