About the position

As a Finance Manager at Koons Ford of Baltimore, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial transactions involved in the vehicle buying experience. This position focuses on working with lenders, producing financial paperwork, and consulting staff on DMV laws, all while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with regulations. The Finance Manager is expected to build strong relationships with customers and lenders, contribute to the dealership's objectives, and maintain a positive reputation in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial transaction of the vehicle buying experience for each customer.
  • Work with lenders to obtain bank approvals for car purchases.
  • Produce financial paperwork and consult staff on DMV laws.
  • Assist the sales team and customers in the financial buying process.
  • Build rapport with customers to establish a referral network.
  • Consult and sell finance and insurance warranties to customers.
  • Produce and submit accurate paperwork for title work and secure funding from finance sources.
  • Achieve monthly objectives and meet deadlines for customer paperwork submission.
  • Secure and handle customer money during vehicle transactions and turn it into accounting.
  • Adhere to local and national regulations and advise the sales team on changes in state laws.
  • Partner with service advisors to assist customers with purchasing extended warranties.
  • Create and maintain customer relationships and maintain a good reputation with lenders and vendors.
  • Present finance and insurance menu explaining warranty packages to customers.
  • Assist sales professionals with customers to explain lending options and warranties.
  • Build relationships with local and national bank and manufacturer representatives.

Requirements

  • Prior automotive sales consultant experience required (1-3 years).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • MBA is a plus!
  • Track record of impeccable customer service ratings.
  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office products and dealership management systems.
  • Detail-oriented and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Ability to understand tag and title laws; DMV.
