About the position

The Finance Manager will oversee financial support for Union Companies within the Utilities Power Delivery operations. This role involves providing operational financial and accounting support, including monthly closings, reporting, planning, and forecasting. The Finance Manager will assist management in making informed economic decisions and ensure accurate financial management reports are prepared and delivered in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage financial support for Union Companies within the Utilities Power Delivery operations.
  • Provide operational financial and accounting support to division and segment management.
  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements and client P&L's.
  • Lead the forecast and planning process, coordinating with operations and segment management.
  • Coordinate with corporate shared services for accounts payable and payroll issues.
  • Assist in resolving front line issues related to accounts payable and payroll processing.
  • Support the procurement department with purchase order approvals and processing.
  • Assist the Billing Manager to ensure accurate and timely billing with customers.
  • Oversee billing processes and interact with project management and clients.
  • Coordinate accounts receivable collection and monitor AR aging and DSO.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and coordinate with audits.
  • Participate in special projects and develop reports as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant industry experience.
  • 15 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience, preferably in a construction environment.
  • Strong accounting/GAAP knowledge and understanding of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting systems.
  • Excellent managerial, leadership, and communication skills.
