About the position

The Finance Manager for Global Procurement at American Woodmark serves as a critical business partner to the Supply Chain Operations management team. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing financial management and reporting for supply chain and procurement activities, ensuring that these functions align strategically with the company's goals while maintaining cost efficiency. The Finance Manager will provide high-level financial insights and collaborate with leadership to facilitate informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement across the organization. In this role, the Finance Manager will lead a team of two Analysts within Supply Chain Finance, focusing on information sharing, training initiatives, mentoring, and coaching to retain top talent. The position involves managing the month-end closing process with a specific emphasis on supply chain and procurement, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost performance. The Finance Manager will communicate financial impacts to all levels of the organization and provide leadership with a monthly reporting package that includes variance analysis against plans, forecasts, and prior year results, along with comprehensive explanations of any differences in costs. Additionally, the Finance Manager will be responsible for completing the Global Supply Chain and Procurement annual operating plan, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and a five-year strategic forecast, ensuring effective communication with business partners. This role also includes approving Authorization for Expenditures, conducting post-completion audits, and tracking expenditures against approvals. The Finance Manager will act as a financial business partner to the Supply Chain teams, providing timely and accurate information on company scorecards and operational performance, while developing tools to track and measure performance. Furthermore, the position requires monitoring supply chain and financial performance metrics, identifying trends, and collaborating proactively with business partners to mitigate risks. The Finance Manager will also develop data-driven scenario analyses and financial modeling to support informed decision-making by the leadership team, identify cost-saving opportunities, and conduct comprehensive cost studies to quantify financial impacts across functional areas and the company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of two Analysts within Supply Chain Finance, focusing on information sharing, training initiatives, mentoring, and coaching to retain top talent.
  • Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost performance related to supply chain and procurement.
  • Provide leadership with a monthly reporting package that includes analysis of variances to plan, forecast, and prior year, with comprehensive explanations of differences in costs.
  • Complete the Global Supply Chain and Procurement annual operating plan, monthly and quarterly forecasts, and the 5-year strategic forecast, ensuring effective communication to business partners.
  • Approve Authorization for Expenditures, conduct post-completion audits, and track expenditures against approval.

  • Provide support for customer pricing by analyzing and leveraging market-driven and commodity trends.
  • Collaborate with all areas and departments in the organization to identify and execute supply chain optimization and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Actively participate or lead cross-functional team projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of financial experience; experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain and working with contracts preferred.
  • Experience developing, implementing and maintaining short, mid and long-term planning and forecasting models.
  • Excellent computer skills and Microsoft products experience required; expert Excel preferred. MS Access, EDW, Power BI, JDE and/or Oracle experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide business support across all levels, from senior leaders to early-career professionals.
  • Possesses competencies in financial planning, financial modeling and analysis, capital budgeting and familiarity with corporate accounting.
  • Analytic skills and strong orientation to detail, with a demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models, perform variance analysis, and communicate results clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail and excels in project management, planning, and time management, effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, concise, and easily understandable way.
  • Proficient at managing tight deadlines, prioritizing workloads effectively, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related major is required; MBA or Master's degree is preferred.
