About the position

The Finance Manager will join the People Experience (PXT) Finance team at Amazon, providing strategic support to the CFO and executive team on enterprise-wide planning, analysis, and reporting for headcount and employee expenses. This role is crucial for delivering insights and data to leadership, enabling informed decision-making that impacts the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Own key month-end and quarter-end processes.
• Manage planning processes including quarterly estimates and the annual operating plan/3-year forecast.
• Oversee the headcount transfer reporting system and deadlines.
• Partner with the Global Finance Technology team to enhance company-wide headcount planning and reporting systems.
• Report and track on company-wide S-team goals.
• Engage in various ad-hoc projects for the leadership team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
• 5+ years of experience in multiple finance and accounting roles.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, finance, or equivalent, or a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of controllership or compliance experience.

Nice-to-haves

• 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and implementing escalation plans.
• 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges with financial models and analysis that have proven business impact.
• MBA or CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL/ETL is a plus.
• Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
• Experience in delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation.
