About the position

The Finance Manager position at Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) is a pivotal role that combines customer experience, operational knowledge, and financial acumen to drive the strategic direction of high-growth businesses. The R2L team is responsible for unique fulfillment capabilities, including Sub Same Day (SSD) and Rural Super Rural (RSR), and aims to continuously improve customer experience while ensuring long-term profitability. The Finance Manager will work closely with operations teams to influence decisions, drive operational excellence, and support investment and expansion strategies. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on building innovative solutions using large-scale data mining tools and collaborating with various stakeholders across Amazon. In this role, the successful candidate will leverage their financial expertise to build financial models, interpret complex data, and make recommendations that drive results. They will be responsible for delivering financial reporting and planning, ensuring the integrity of data, and influencing strategic decision-making. The Finance Manager will also need to navigate ambiguous environments, utilizing active listening skills to communicate complex finance issues clearly to diverse audiences. Additionally, this position involves mentoring and developing team members, fostering an inclusive culture that values diverse perspectives. A typical day will involve identifying high-priority projects, solving complex problems that impact company-wide strategies, and collaborating with executives to drive business forward. Responsibilities

  • Leverage financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results.
  • Deliver financial reporting/planning working across stakeholders to understand input drivers, validate reporting integrity, and influence strategic decision-making and action plans.
  • Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
  • Use active listening skills and communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, adjusting style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly.
  • Participate in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members, seeking and leveraging diverse perspectives.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science)
  • 5+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
