The Finance Manager for Regional Campuses and Expansion Programs at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) plays a pivotal role within the Financial Affairs Unit of the UCSF School of Medicine's Dean's Office. Reporting directly to the Director of Budget & Resource Planning, this position is integral to the financial management and strategic planning of the SJV PRIME+ Program across three UC campuses. The Finance Manager is expected to leverage their extensive experience in finance, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to navigate complex financial landscapes and resolve multifaceted issues that impact the organization as a whole. This role requires a high level of judgment and expertise in selecting appropriate methods and techniques to achieve desired outcomes, often in situations where precedents are lacking. In this capacity, the Finance Manager will oversee the financial planning and analysis functions for the SJV PRIME+ program, which includes managing the annual consolidated budget, long-range financial plans, and complex financial modeling. The position also involves conducting sensitivity and contingency analyses, managing funds for operations, and performing variance analyses. The Finance Manager will be responsible for educating and training administration and faculty leaders on financial results and opportunities, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and equipped to make strategic decisions based on accurate financial data. Additionally, the Finance Manager will supervise one analyst, conduct annual performance evaluations, and support professional development initiatives. This role is critical in establishing operational objectives, delegating assignments, and reviewing financial planning and control recommendations. The Finance Manager will also be tasked with improving budgeting, planning, decision support, and financial reporting processes, while fostering collaborative relationships across the UC enterprise to ensure effective financial stewardship and resource allocation.
