About the position

The Finance Manager for SCOT Automated Inventory Management (AIM) at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for leading financial strategies and decisions that impact Amazon's Global Supply Chain. This role involves collaborating with various teams to innovate optimization strategies, ensuring financial controllership, and influencing business strategy for long-term capacity planning. The Finance Manager will act as a mini-CFO, providing insights and recommendations to senior management while managing complex financial models and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead multi-billion one-way door investment decisions to improve speed and reduce Cost To Serve (CTS) for Amazon's Global Supply Chain.
  • Collaborate with Science, SDE, and PM to innovate optimization strategies for a portfolio of products owned by Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT).
  • Audit the inputs and trade-offs of existing and future systems to ensure appropriate financial controllership.
  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities associated with investment trade-offs.
  • Support quarterly Strategic Sales & Operations Planning (SSOP) reviews and build narratives for CEO/SVP with significant senior management exposure.
  • Audit and standardize model inputs worldwide, ensuring financial controllership of investment decisions.
  • Build knowledge and trust across all business areas, staying current on initiatives, risks, issues, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field.
  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • 5+ years of finance experience, or a Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges with accurate financial models and analysis.
  • MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL and experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
