About the position

The Finance Manager at Southside Medical Center plays a crucial role in providing financial and operational support to the designated sites. Reporting directly to the Facility CFO, this position is responsible for collaborating with the corporate office, management, staff, and other key leaders to ensure the financial health of the organization. The Finance Manager will provide financial analytics to support strategic initiatives, develop and implement the annual operating and capital budgets, and assist in achieving the established financial goals. In this role, the Finance Manager will support the development of annual financial plans by manipulating financial models in financial planning software to integrate various assumptions, impacts, and initiatives as directed. Regular meetings with regional leaders will be essential to determine accurate and reasonable labor and operating budgets while ensuring cost containment. The Finance Manager will also lead the monthly review of financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy, acting as a liaison between centralized finance and the region during the month-end close process to validate financial statement information and address any discrepancies. Additionally, the Finance Manager will educate regional leaders on budgets, monthly reports, and finance systems, coordinating effectively across departments to track and ensure performance on financial initiatives. The role also involves assisting in the compilation of information for annual tax returns, monthly community benefits reports, and Medicare cost reports. This position is dynamic and may require the employee to perform other job-related duties as assigned by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of annual financial plans, including manipulation of financial models in financial planning software.
  • Meet with regional leaders to determine accurate and reasonable labor and operating budgets while ensuring cost containment.
  • Support the development of interim forecasts and long-term financial models.
  • Lead monthly review of financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in the month-end close process as a liaison between centralized finance and the region.
  • Educate regional leaders on budgets, monthly reports, and finance systems.
  • Coordinate all departments regarding the financial impact of the organization.
  • Regularly meet with regional leaders to track and ensure performance on financial initiatives.
  • Assist in the compilation of information for annual tax returns.
  • Assist in the compilation of information for monthly community benefits report.
  • Assist in the compilation of information for Medicare cost report.

Requirements

  • 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of acute care financial/operational experience or system level Finance experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and financial forecasting and analysis software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate Degree (Masters) in Accounting/Finance or related field (MBA + other Bachelors also acceptable).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
