About the position

The Finance Manager - Transportation position at Williams Sonoma Corporation is a pivotal role that provides financial expertise and guidance for all transportation activities within the organization. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including financial planning and analysis, strategic planning, financial close, forecasting, budgeting, and ad hoc analysis. As a key member of the Finance team, the Finance Manager will act as a financial advisor to the business, driving results and influencing decision-making processes. In this role, you will actively assist in leading all financial aspects related to inbound and outbound transportation. This includes managing the financial month-end close, conducting monthly forecasting, and overseeing annual budgeting processes. You will also be responsible for performing financial analysis and collaborating with operations to measure and manage transportation spending effectively. Your efforts will contribute to optimizing the movement of products and assisting the operations team in managing transportation vendors. Additionally, you will create actionable financial and metric reporting that influences business decisions, maintain a thorough understanding of business risks and opportunities, and develop forward-looking predictive models to support the business. Identifying cost-saving and profit-maximizing opportunities, as well as conducting competitive benchmark analysis, will also be key components of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial expertise and guidance for all Transportation activities related to Williams Sonoma Corporation.
  • Assist in the leadership of all financial aspects related to inbound and outbound transportation.

  • Perform financial analysis to support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience with month-end close, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Experience providing actionable financial analysis to key decision makers.
  • Solid level of proficiency utilizing Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of urgency and a track record of getting results.
  • Experience supporting operations.
  • Experience with Supply Chain Management is a plus.

  • CPA or MBA.
