About the position

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a Finance Manager for the U.S. Office division, specifically focusing on Housing and Community Strategy (HCS) support. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations within the US Office, ensuring that all financial activities align with the organization's mission and values. This position will involve close collaboration with various teams, including the finance team responsible for Grant Compliance and Donor Reporting, Financial Reporting, procurement, payables, and payroll. The Finance Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between the US Office team and the finance team, facilitating effective communication and coordination of financial matters. In this role, the Finance Manager will support the US Office in managing government grants and restricted donor funds, leading the team through budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and conducting quarterly reviews for the overall program effort. The Finance Manager will also be responsible for managing the reporting of program funds, ensuring that program managers have access to regular monthly reports that provide analysis and facilitate the efficient use of donor funds. Additionally, the Finance Manager will develop an easily accessible report archive, ensuring that clear action plans and follow-ups are established after each reporting period. This position may also involve other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the US Office's financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as financial manager for the US Office, focusing on the HCS program.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the US Office team and the finance team.
  • Support the US Office in managing government grants and restricted donor funds.
  • Lead the US Office team through budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting, and quarterly reviews.
  • Manage the reporting of program funds for the US Office and HCS.
  • Steward a schedule of regular monthly reports that provide analysis for program managers.
  • Develop an easily accessible report archive with clear action plans and follow-ups after each reporting period.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 5 years of related experience in financial management or accounting.
  • Highly skilled in the use of PC and peripheral devices.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams effectively.
  • Experience in modeling business trends and key performance indicators.
  • Strong communication skills with constituents.
  • Expertise in grant management.
  • Ability to learn reporting programs as needed.
