About the position

The Finance Manager at Tenneco is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate filing of quarterly and annual reports in compliance with US GAAP regulations and the Company's Credit Agreements. This includes the preparation of the Company's external financial statements, which are similar in format and content to SEC Form 10-K and Form 10-Q. The Finance Manager will oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements along with all accompanying footnotes, actively seeking opportunities to standardize and automate processes to enhance efficiency. This role requires a thorough understanding of GAAP requirements to ensure that financial statements meet all related disclosures. In addition to financial reporting, the Finance Manager will conduct accounting technical research and write technical position memos or white papers for accounting and disclosure matters. The position also involves assisting with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and related procedures, as well as supporting the annual external audit by serving as a liaison between the Company and external auditors to resolve accounting and reporting issues. The Finance Manager will also assist with internal audits and the validation processes of internal controls over financial reporting. The role includes performing analytical reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing oversight and coaching for one direct report, and offering U.S. GAAP support to Segment and Corporate Finance Leaders. The Finance Manager will coordinate with external specialists on critical accounting estimates and related assumptions, ensuring proper control documentation over the review of inputs to financial models. Additionally, the position requires maintaining internal control documentation and related testing for the financial reporting cycle and other cycles within the area of responsibility, such as goodwill and indefinite-lived intangible assets. The Finance Manager will also draft disclosures related to newly implemented accounting pronouncements or SEC requirements, provide input on accounting process improvements, and ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports. This role requires coordination with the consolidation system administrator group to facilitate an efficient close process and adherence to US GAAP and external financial reporting requirements.
