The focus of this position is to manage various aspects of financial reporting in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while ensuring accurate and timely SEC filings. The position requires an understanding of SEC/GAAP reporting and period-ending reporting processes and procedures. This individual must work closely with other reporting teams and the technical accounting group. The position is responsible for the successful support of and interaction with each line of business controller, legal departments, investor relations, and all functional areas providing financial data. The position is responsible for coordination and effective interaction with the internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the annual and quarterly preparation of the SEC filings for multiple SEC registrants (including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, Proxy Statement, Annual Report, registration statements and others) to meet all reporting requirements and filing deadlines.
  • Prepare and review the Forepart including MD&A, disclosure support, and coordinate with various areas of the organization including internal and external auditors.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews across various internal and external reports, presentations, publications, and releases.
  • Coordinate external audit activities, including management representation letters, escalation, certifications, and calendar management.
  • Prepare and resolve ongoing ad hoc requests and projects, including accounting guidance adoptions, process improvement, enhanced reporting, and technical research.
  • Contribute and support various additional functions for the larger reporting organization such as continuous process improvements and execution of ongoing goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience required (which includes managerial experience).
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies in current or historical roles.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Time management and documentation skills are vital for this role.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion in communications with internal and external parties.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build professional working relationships with senior management, line of business, and functional area representatives and associates.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, managing multiple assignments simultaneously with a strong service orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and Master's degree and/or CPA designation highly preferred.
  • Public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience highly preferred.
