About the position

The Airport Finance Manager at EWR is responsible for managing the airport's accounting and financial reporting activities. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, and implementing policies to safeguard assets. The position plays a crucial role in supporting the Senior Finance Manager and collaborating with various teams to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Money Room Team and ensure accuracy and integrity of cash reporting.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in maintaining accountability for terminal cash controls.
  • Review cash settlement reports for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
  • Oversee the Accounting Team to ensure timely entry of invoices and payments.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies with invoices and payments.
  • Analyze and report weekly financial results to management.
  • Analyze Crunchtime & Mirus reports for accuracy and discrepancies.
  • Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and investigate book to physical adjustments.
  • Perform audits of product invoices to ensure accurate cost accounting.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly forecasts and expense budgets.
  • Prepare variance reports from actuals to budget and strategize for company objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with budget in purchasing by operational departments.
  • Review and approve monthly accruals for accurate accounting periods.
  • Analyze weekly schedules to budget for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Terminal Director to provide necessary reports and achieve goals.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of terminals to enforce operational policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the completion of special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years as an Accounting Manager in a hospitality/food and beverage/retail environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a cross-functional management team.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound planning and organizational skills.
  • High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting systems.
  • Experience with Oracle.
