About the position

The Finance Manager at the Developmental Learning Center (DLC) is responsible for overseeing financial records and office administration, including accounting, payroll, accounts receivable/payables, cash management, and budget processes. This role involves working closely with the CEO and Chief Programs Officer to ensure accurate and timely financial practices are in place, supporting the organization's mission of providing inclusive childcare for children of unique abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage financial resources and ensure fiscal integrity of programs.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for review.
• Facilitate the annual budget process and coordinate with key staff.
• Perform accounting duties according to DLC policies and GAAP.
• Optimize cash flow through effective accounts payable management.
• Process payroll bi-weekly and maintain employee attendance records.
• Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax returns.
• Manage employee benefit programs and respond to employee inquiries.
• Oversee the organization's voucher, contract, and grant management process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
• Minimum four years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SAMIS software.
• Previous experience in a nonprofit organization.
