About the position

The Finance Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization's accounting processes. This role involves managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, compliance, budgets, records, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager acts as a leader and partner to the Executive Leadership team, supporting strategic financial planning and analysis to drive decision-making and ensure sustainable growth. This position is full-time and reports to the Executive Director, collaborating closely with the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual operating and capital budget process to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to monitor budget, expenses, and revenues.
  • Prepare and track monthly financial statements including Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement.
  • Manage administration of and process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Monitor and facilitate accurate and compliant W4's and W2s.
  • Process accurately all monetary, in-kind, and credit card donations received weekly.
  • Develop and maintain written accounting policies and procedures.
  • Create and submit bi-weekly and monthly reports to the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Assist in preparing backup documentation for monthly grant reporting.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when interacting with budget and financial information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in accounting or finance.
  • 4+ years experience as an accountant.
  • 4+ years experience with non-profit accounting.
  • Expert knowledge of spreadsheets and proficiency in financial software.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge, work history and/or education specific to milieu management, day-center operations, addiction, mental health, housing and homelessness.
  • Experience with an integrated payroll system such as Paylocity, PayCom.
