About the position

The Finance Manager (FM) is a key member of the KIPP Delta Finance team, located in Helena, AR. This position plays a crucial role in assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of KIPP Delta's schools and regional office. The FM will be involved in various financial activities including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, internal controls, and vendor relations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Finance, the FM will serve as the primary liaison between KIPP Delta Finance, KIPP Delta staff, and vendors for finance-related inquiries and reporting. In this role, the FM will review, process, and code department-level and school-level transactions such as check requests, reimbursement requests, purchase order requisitions, invoices, credit card statements, and bank deposits. The FM will also prepare vendor accounts payable batches and weekly ACH batches for approval and posting to the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN). Additionally, the FM will review weekly deposits and prepare the revenue sheet for data entry, manage credit card transactions, and maintain W-9 files for vendors. The FM will assist in researching unpaid purchase orders, unpaid invoices, credit memos, and back-ordered items for accounts receivable/accounts payable. Month-end close and financial reporting tasks will also be part of the FM's responsibilities, along with communicating with vendors and school personnel regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. The FM will ensure that all purchase orders, check requests, and reimbursement requests adhere to the procurement process and assist with any ad-hoc finance and accounting reports. Furthermore, the FM will play a role in the yearly financial audit and manage the Finance inbox for internal and external requests. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between KIPP Delta Finance, KIPP Delta Staff, and vendors for finance-related inquiries and reporting.
  • Review, process, and code department-level and school-level transactions including check requests, reimbursement requests, purchase order requisitions, invoices, credit card statements, and bank deposits.
  • Prepare vendor accounts payable batches and weekly ACH batches for approval and posting to the Arkansas Public School Computer Network (APSCN).

  • Manage credit card transactions including prepaid card requests, reconciliations, and internal control.
  • Request and maintain W-9 files for vendors.

  • Assist in month-end close and financial reporting as assigned.
  • Communicate with vendors and school personnel regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Review purchase orders, check requests, and reimbursement requests to ensure compliance with the procurement process.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc finance and accounting reports.
  • Assist with the yearly financial audit.
  • Manage the Finance inbox for internal and external requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Business, OR a minimum of five years of successful experience in accounting, payroll, or finance is required.
  • Experience in a K-12 public education setting is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs).
  • Evidence of personal initiative and follow-through.
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal skills.
  • Resourceful and flexible.
