About the position

The Operations Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial activities associated with a designated account portfolio and territory. This role encompasses a variety of financial functions including budgeting, performance monitoring, forecasting, profitability analysis, and variance analysis. The Finance Manager will work closely with operations leadership to enhance performance, ensure accountability, and drive continuous improvement within the organization. This position is pivotal in managing financial results and requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for margin improvement and cost containment. In this role, the Finance Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with both operations and functional teams, ensuring effective communication channels are established. The individual will be tasked with preparing timely and accurate internal month-end close reports, which detail financial activity and profitability. This includes preparing and posting journal entries as necessary, as well as reporting and communicating business metrics in a timely manner. The Finance Manager will also be responsible for escalating and addressing any financial issues with key corporate members prior to the financial close, ensuring that all potential problems are managed effectively. Additionally, the Finance Manager will be expected to develop and enhance financial analysis tools and models, contributing to the overall growth and success of the business. Responsibilities

  • Build and develop strong relationships and maintain communication channels with Operations and functional teams
  • Own and manage financial results for assigned scope
  • Report, analyze, interpret, and communicate financial and operational issues
  • Identify, communicate, train, guide and influence opportunities for margin improvement and cost containment
  • Prepare timely and accurate internal month end Close reports of financial activity and profitability; prepare and post journal entries as required
  • Report and communicate business metrics timely
  • Escalate and address issues to key corporate members prior to financial close
  • Develop and improve financial analysis tools and models

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field from a four-year college or university; MBA a plus
  • Prior finance experience required
  • Ability and willingness to integrate and communicate with all organizational levels
  • Experience with JD Edwards and Hyperion preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to multitask while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to synthesize complex data and communicate summary results
  • Maturity to handle confidential data
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • May be required to have a valid driver's license
