About the position

As a Finance Manager at GXO, you will serve as the primary contact for regional operational performance, developing solutions and strategies for complex situations. This role involves collaboration with various teams to manage project spending and enhance reporting capabilities, ultimately contributing to the company's financial success and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers to track and manage project spending for large startup and capital projects
  • Work with executives and teams to gather required data from various sources
  • Utilize Oracle Projects to enhance reporting capabilities and manage project spends
  • Handle the lifecycle of project reporting from creation requests to closures
  • Design and deliver standard reporting to support vertical leaders using software such as Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle ERP, and Oracle ePBCS
  • Ensure profitability targets are met and evaluate potential return on invested capital for proposed projects
  • Oversee the authority for expenditure process and create templates for operational/financial KPIs
  • Identify methods to monitor performance against original assumptions and develop predictive indicators

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 5 years of experience in financial analysis, financial/strategic planning, accounting, and/or budgeting
  • Solid working knowledge of Oracle Projects
  • Experience evaluating systems of internal control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytic software

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree and/or CPA certification
  • Background in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or distribution
  • 3 years of project management experience
  • Knowledge of various functional areas including operations, marketing, sales, pricing, project management, human resources, and IT
  • Thorough knowledge of financial monitoring and control, general ledger, and accounts payable processes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and prepare capital and operating budgets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
