About the position

The Finance Manager at Dateline Exports, Inc. is responsible for overseeing all financial operations within the company, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data. This role includes managing banking functions, month-end and year-end closing procedures, budget management, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager will also lead teams in accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and invoicing, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Sign checks and approve wires and ACH transfers.
  • Manage cash flow including advances from line of credit and repayment of line of credit.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform general ledger analysis, prepare closing journal entries, and reconcile prepaid expenses and travel accruals.
  • Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reviews to senior management.
  • Serve as the company's Registered Agent, maintaining legal and tax-related documentation.
  • Create and manage annual sales budgets, ensuring completion by the end of January.
  • Prepare monthly sales vs. budget reports, as well as quarterly reports for company quarterly business meetings.
  • Provide financial statements, tax returns, and year-to-date financials to banks and others.
  • Manage all business insurance policies, including General Liability, EPL, Auto, and Life Insurance.
  • Lead and manage the team responsible for AR, AP, payroll, and invoicing functions.
  • Oversee 401(k) plan administration, ensuring semi-monthly payroll contributions are processed within five days of payroll.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management or CPA work, preferably in a mid-sized or larger company.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
  • Experience managing banking relationships and business insurance needs.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience managing finance teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (ERP, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel).
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
