About the position

The Finance Manager is a pivotal role within the finance organization, tasked with overseeing all major stations (Hubs) in the aviation portfolio. This position demands a strong analytical mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both finance personnel and business leaders. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial operations while adhering to tight deadlines. Given the visibility of this role within the organization, the Finance Manager must be self-sufficient and capable of executing financial duties independently. The position is based in Jamaica, NY, and requires in-office work five days a week, located near JFK Airport. In this role, the Finance Manager will manage a diverse portfolio of stations, providing support to various operational leaders. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, and reporting financial results on a weekly and monthly basis. The Finance Manager will also handle monthly analyses and reporting tasks, focusing on functional spending and the impact of various initiatives. During the close period, the Finance Manager will manage the profit and loss statement, identifying any necessary correcting entries. Additionally, the role involves gathering and synthesizing data from multiple sources, ensuring uniformity in reporting, and effectively multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of stations supporting various operational leaders.
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting financial results on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Handle monthly analyses and reporting responsibilities including functional spend and impact of initiatives.
  • Manage profit and loss statement during close period and identify correcting entries.
  • Gather and synthesize data across various parties and manage any un-uniformed data.
  • Multitask and work well with others in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience.
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics (Masters is a plus).
  • Exceptional high technical skills with a high-level proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven work experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software.
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas).
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts.
  • Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.
