About the position

The Finance Operations Coordinator at Bridgeway Community Church is responsible for ensuring seamless financial operations that align with the church's mission of stewardship. This role focuses on maintaining transparent and accurate financial processes, enhancing donor and employee trust, and managing a well-trained team to leverage financial systems effectively. The position encompasses various responsibilities, including overseeing online giving, payroll processing, volunteer coordination, financial reporting, and communication training.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the online giving platform to ensure accurate and secure processing of donations.
  • Coordinate the counting and secure deposit of cash and checks with the counting team volunteers.
  • Prepare and distribute donor statements, maintaining accurate records and responding to inquiries promptly.
  • Generate tithes and attendance reports for relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and ensure timely approval of employee timesheets by supervisors to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Process payroll efficiently, adhering to organizational policies and compliance standards.
  • Manage and execute 403(b) deposits in Empower, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and resolve payroll discrepancies to maintain accuracy and trust.
  • Manage and schedule counting team volunteers for donation reconciliation.
  • Facilitate monthly team meetings with the Bridgeway accounting team.
  • Participate in 1:1 meetings with supervisors and represent the Finance Office in project discussions.
  • Review credit card expense reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and review contracts for expiration and compliance.
  • Equip employees with skills to utilize financial systems effectively.
  • Compose finance-related messages for internal communications.
  • Upload month-end documents and email budgets to budget managers.
  • Launch new financial systems and processes, ensuring employee adoption.
  • Partner with the Benevolence Team for timely disbursements.
  • Represent the finance team at monthly employee meetings and lead projects for improving financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  • Mid-level finance experience with a focus on financial management and accounting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Experience in church or nonprofit financial management.
