About the position

The Finance & Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role within our diverse team, supporting initiatives that drive positive change in nonprofit organizations and the community. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference and are eager to apply their skills in a dynamic and growing organization. The Finance & Operations Coordinator will work closely with Causewave staff, nonprofit partners, and external resources to achieve shared objectives. This role is envisioned as a full-time position, but we welcome candidates interested in part-time work as well. In this role, the Finance & Operations Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of finance and operations tasks. On the finance side, the Coordinator will partner with the Director of Finance & Administration to implement the organization's accounting policies, procedures, and internal control activities. This includes receiving and processing payments to the organization and assisting in the monthly close procedures. The Coordinator will also play a vital role in ensuring that financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. On the operations and office management side, the Finance & Operations Coordinator will serve as the glue that holds the Causewave team together. This involves keeping the entire team informed about upcoming commitments and responsibilities related to internal projects, ensuring maximum organizational efficiency. The Coordinator will collaborate with the Director of Finance on team-building and human resources activities, manage contracts and invoices with vendors, and oversee the inventory of office supplies and equipment. Additionally, the Coordinator will coordinate the onboarding and training process for new employees and participate in internal projects as needed. The role requires learning and leveraging multiple online systems and tools to support the mission work effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Finance & Administration in executing the organization's accounting policies, procedures, and internal control activities.
  • Receive and process payments to the organization.
  • Assist in performing monthly close procedures.
  • Work closely with the Causewave team to keep everyone informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities on internal projects.
  • Follow up appropriately for maximum organizational efficiency.
  • Partner with the Director of Finance on team-building and human resources activities.
  • Manage contracts and invoices with vendors.
  • Manage inventories of office supplies and equipment; prepare and submit orders for purchase.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training process for new employees.
  • Participate as needed on internal projects.
  • Learn and leverage multiple online systems and tools to support the mission work as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience (internships count).
  • Financial acumen - comfortable with spreadsheets and numbers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Strong desire to make the world a better place.
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience.
