About the position

The Finance and Accounting Rotational Program at Navy Federal Credit Union offers recent college graduates a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the critical roles that finance and accounting play within the organization. Participants in this program will engage in a structured learning environment designed to enhance their business acumen, creative problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and technical expertise. Through targeted training, mentoring, and development advising from seasoned leaders, participants will gain valuable insights that will significantly impact their career trajectories. The program emphasizes professional execution of daily tasks and special projects while adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures. Participants will receive guidance and direction from both their team and management, ensuring a supportive learning atmosphere. As part of the program, team members will develop financial forecasts and analyze key performance metrics to provide meaningful insights into business trends. They will play a pivotal role in shaping product and strategy decisions by collaborating closely with business leaders and enterprise service organizations. The program also focuses on building influencing skills through partnerships with key stakeholders and leadership, consolidating business segment performance, and financial reporting. Participants will be encouraged to challenge existing workflows with technology, evaluate new working methods through experimentation, and leverage innovative technologies. Additionally, they will develop proficiency in financial modeling, data reporting automation, and data visualization tools, while providing support to assigned departments and collaborating with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks and assignments. Other duties may be assigned as needed, allowing for a diverse range of experiences throughout the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial forecasts and analyze key performance metrics to provide meaningful insight into business trends.
  • Play a key role in evolving product and strategy decisions by partnering closely with business leaders and enterprise service organizations.
  • Build influencing skills through partnership with key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Consolidate business segment performance and financial reporting.
  • Challenge the way we work with Technology, evaluate new ways of working through experimentation, and leverage new technologies.
  • Develop proficiency in financial modeling, data and reporting automation, as well as data visualization tools.
  • Provide support to assigned department, may work on small projects or portions of larger projects.
  • Assist and collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish tasks/assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
