About the position

The Financial Accounting Analyst at Federal Health Products and Services (FHPS) is responsible for supporting month-close functions, including closing, analysis, and reporting, while also providing project leadership. This role is crucial in ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting within the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and prepares interpretation of accounting transactions and results.
• Prepares financial, business, and process presentations.
• Identifies complex accounting problems or issues related to workflow processes, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to achieve higher operational efficiency.
• Coordinates, manages, and leads complex projects and processes.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience supporting audits.
• Previous work experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and federal government contracting accounting principles preferred.
