The Financial Accounting Analyst Sr. at Elevance Health plays a crucial role in providing technical leadership and setting the strategic direction for various financial projects. In addition to these responsibilities, the Financial Accounting Analyst Sr. will design research plans for data gathering and analysis, managing projects to meet strict deadlines. The role requires a proactive approach to the initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems, necessitating a high level of technical expertise. Furthermore, this position involves mentoring, training, and coaching lower-level accountants, fostering a culture of growth and development within the team. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model, allowing for both virtual and in-office collaboration. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or be able to commute within an hour to an Elevance Health location, as the role requires in-office presence 1-2 days per week. This flexibility is designed to enhance collaboration and community connection among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Manages close processes, related analysis and reporting.
  • May lead teams of associates.
  • Reviews and approves journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly and quarterly financial reports and complex analysis.
  • Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis and manages projects to deadlines.
  • Responsible for initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems requiring technical expertise.
  • Mentors, trains, and coaches lower level accountants.

Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in general accounting, finance or budgeting and planning in a large for-profit organization.
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.

Nice-to-haves
