About the position

The Financial/Accounting Analyst position is a contract role based in McLean, Virginia, requiring on-site presence with a hybrid schedule of working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This position is expected to last for 77 weeks and involves a variety of financial and accounting responsibilities. The primary focus will be on supporting daily operations related to cash processing, reconciliation, and accounts receivable. The analyst will be responsible for executing month-end billing close processes for assigned billing lines and processing ad-hoc manual billing requests from internal business partners. Additionally, the role involves performing high-level analysis of fee assessments and conducting root cause analysis for credit fee billing adjustments. The analyst will manage multiple group inboxes, responding to customer requests in a timely manner, and will collaborate closely with internal business partners to ensure smooth operations. Maintaining accurate documentation for control and audit support is also a critical aspect of this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong customer focus, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a solid understanding of financial processes and tools, particularly PeopleSoft, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel. The candidate should be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering results. A sense of curiosity and a desire to learn will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Accounts Receivable experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • PeopleSoft and/or Workday experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, etc.).
