About the position

The Financial Accounting Manager at Pierre Fabre plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, planning, and analysis. Reporting to the Controller, this position involves overseeing general ledger accounting, managing financial close processes, and supporting external audits. The role also includes responsibilities related to gross-to-net accounting, sales tax reporting, and intercompany reconciliations, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Controller in general accounting duties and special projects.
  • Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting and financial reporting for assigned areas.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned functional areas.
  • Communicate with Supervisors regarding financial close issues and deliverables.
  • Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations.
  • Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries related to assigned responsibilities.
  • Monitor bank account activity and assist in cash flow reporting.
  • Support external audits as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual Financial Statements.
  • Cross-train as back-ups for other staff in emergencies.
  • Manage Gross-to-Net accounting for the pharmaceutical side of the business.
  • Calculate net revenue by accounting for deductions such as discounts and returns.
  • Prepare GTN balance sheet account reconciliations and month-end closing accruals.
  • Support GTN process automation and validation for forecasting processes.
  • Work with third-party revenue management platforms for accurate accounting.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls over revenue recognition processes.
  • Monitor GTN control environment for compliance with company policy.
  • Handle rebate reporting for Medicaid and Medicare.
  • Manage sales tax reporting and filing for PF USA and eCom.
  • Reconcile National Accounts Sales and manage cross billing with subsidiaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a senior financial/accounting role.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG/Consumer/Healthcare industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage competing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with new software deployment.
  • Familiarity with gross-to-net accounting processes.
