Responsibilities

  • Coordinate financial aid program processing.
  • Manage financial aid program accounts.
  • Provide assistance with financial services advising.
  • Counsel medical students and parents about financial services, financial aid, financial literacy, student accounts, billing, payment plans, and student employment.
  • Process financial aid applications, including budgeting, packaging of awards, revising awards, verification, and resolving conflicting information.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through various communication systems.
  • Conduct workshops, seminars, and presentations about financial assistance programs.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior in working with confidential information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Coordinate procedures to fulfill regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure financial aid program compliance with regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in financial aid services, advising, and processing in higher education.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of current student financial assistance programs and financial service operations.
  • Experience and knowledge in student account and billing methods preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with financial aid data and computerized systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential data and prioritize workload in a multi-person office.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population of students, parents, and staff.
  • Meet eligibility criteria to obtain access to federal websites needed to perform job functions.
