About the position

The Financial Aid / Financial Services Account Coordinator at Southern Nazarene University is responsible for evaluating the financial needs of students and counseling them regarding financial aid eligibility. This role involves maintaining accountability for payment arrangements and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional guidelines. The coordinator also prepares and presents information about financial aid options to various groups and interfaces with students and other stakeholders to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels and advises students regarding financial aid, tailoring information to individual needs.
  • Keeps students and families accountable to their payment arrangements with the university.
  • Collects and analyzes financial data to determine aid eligibility and make awards.
  • Evaluates unusual circumstances and exercises judgment to adjust costs or contribution statuses as exceptions.
  • Assists in preparing and presenting information on financial aid options to campus groups and parents.
  • Analyzes system-generated reports to verify student eligibility for aid and notifies them of changes.
  • Interfaces with students, lenders, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Maintains regular office hours and meets awarding goals set by the supervisor.
  • Speaks publicly to groups about financial aid topics.
  • Cross-trains in Traditional & PGS financial aid as needed.

Requirements

  • High School education level required.

  • Experience with Laserfiche document imaging software.
  • Experience with Ellucian's Colleague ERP software.
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience or relevant training.
