About the position

As the Business Unit Portfolio Financial Analysis Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in providing financial leadership and control to support the business unit in evaluating and executing long-term business strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to assess product business cases and technology node financials, which will significantly influence product roadmap decisions. You will work closely with various teams, including Strategic Planning, Business Operations, Marketing, and Pricing, as well as partner organizations such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Corporate Strategy, and Manufacturing. Your expertise will be crucial in conducting Return on Investment (ROI) analyses to support Product Stage Gate milestone reviews. In this role, you will also be responsible for long-term financial analysis modeling, portfolio and operational expenditure rationalization, and driving business unit profitability initiatives. You will promote a return on investment mentality and leverage financial and operational data analysis to influence business results. This includes responding to customer requests and presenting actionable recommendations for improvements. You will measure results against the business unit's strategy, industry benchmarks, and competitive data, ensuring that financial information is accessible, timely, accurate, and relevant to the decision-making process. As a senior member of the finance team, you will be expected to provide leadership and act as a trusted advisor to management by interpreting business results and assessing business risks. Your ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be essential in achieving profitability goals and ensuring that accurate financial controls and governance are in place for long-term strategic and product portfolio decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with and influence BU teams and partner organizations in developing business cases for product roadmap decision milestones.
  • Ensure accurate financial controls and governance are in place concerning long term strategic and product portfolio decisions.
  • Lead Portfolio Reviews to CEO staff, through collaboration with cross-functional teams, establishing accountability for KPIs, and drive achievement of profitability goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional efforts to develop portfolio analysis tools and processes and drive rationalization of portfolio/Opex relative to peer business divisions.
  • Partner with Strategic Planning and Corporate Strategy in developing long term strategic plans for the business.
  • Support BU in driving the right business decisions by utilizing a broad range of financial modeling and using operational and financial data warehouses, pricing models, return on investment/net present value, and product cost analyses.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in business management at large multinational firm
  • Strong financial planning & analysis experience
  • Portfolio management for technology products
  • Proven track record to perform in a fast-paced environment; Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to influence others, build consensus, and resolve conflicts
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to work across functional boundaries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented. Self-starter
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of Finance and investment evaluation experience
