About the position

The Financial Analyst position is a critical role within the banking and finance sector, located in Madison, AL. This position is responsible for the comprehensive analysis of financial data, which includes budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. The analyst will engage in variance analysis and create detailed statistical reports that interpret various accounting data. The role requires a keen understanding of financial principles and the ability to provide actionable insights based on data analysis. In this position, the Financial Analyst will prepare reports and projections based on financial data, ensuring accurate reporting of actual and forecast cash flows. The analyst will evaluate both current and historical data to identify trends and patterns, which will inform recommendations for operational improvements. Additionally, the role involves leading the annual budgeting process, reporting on budget performance across various cost centers, and conducting variance analysis by cost center. The analyst will also be involved in cost of goods sold (COGS) and purchase price variance (PPV) analysis, supporting material standard cost analysis, and pricing administration. Evaluating physical contracts related to products and billing plans is also a key responsibility, as is organizing customer contracts and assessing all agreements and invoices. The Financial Analyst will perform other duties as assigned, collaborating with suppliers, customers, upper management, department employees, financial institutions, and auditors to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support.
  • Prepare reports and projections based on financial data.
  • Responsible for reporting actual and forecast cash flow.
  • Evaluate current & historical data and develop trends and patterns to provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead annual budgeting process and report budget among various cost centers, analysis of variances by cost center.
  • Conduct COGS, PPV analysis and support material standard cost analysis.
  • Administer and analyze pricing.
  • Evaluate all physical contracts with products and billing plans.
  • Organize customer contracts and evaluate all agreements and invoices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Manufacturing setting.
  • Detail-oriented with strong financial analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly knowledgeable in computerized accounting applications and systems.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
