About the position

The Financial Analyst position within the Consultation & Contract Management Section of the Office of Community Violence Intervention (OCVI) is responsible for overseeing the analysis and interpretation of complex fiscal and programmatic budget requirements. The role involves updating and managing revenue and expenditure policies, training staff, and serving as a financial liaison to ensure accurate budget data submission.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret complex federal, state, and local fiscal and programmatic budget requirements.
• Update and oversee OCVI revenue, expenditures, and sub-recipient monitoring policies and procedures.
• Train staff on managing and monitoring their programs/projects.
• Run expenditure and payroll reports and perform projections for OCVI funding sources.
• Develop and implement staff time and effort reporting and conduct bi-weekly audits of reported time.
• Assist in developing and updating budgets and budget narratives for various funding sources.
• Serve as the financial liaison to MDHHS Grant Accounting, Contract, and Budget Office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester credits in accounting, finance, or economics.
• 1 year of professional experience in budget analysis or financial data evaluation for Financial Analyst 10 level.
• 2 years of professional experience for Financial Analyst 11 level, including 1 year at the Financial Analyst 10 level.
• 3 years of professional experience for Financial Analyst 12 level, including 1 year at the Financial Analyst 11 level.
