About the position

The Enterprise Licensing section Financial Analyst will perform systematic review, analysis, interpretation and/or evaluation of financial documents, including personal and business bank accounts, investment portfolios, net-worth statements, personal and business tax returns and other financial data to determine the financial probity or integrity of license applicants or licensees. This position serves as a financial resource to the investigative arm of the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), providing on-site financial expertise as to all aspects of the investigative and licensing process as outlined in various gaming laws and associated Administrative Rules. The role involves participating in financial reviews of applicants and licensees as conducted by MGCB, ensuring compliance with the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act and other relevant legislation. The Michigan Gaming Control Board is dedicated to ensuring the conduct of fair and honest gaming, adapting to new challenges by regulating various forms of gaming including onsite sports betting, internet gaming, and mobile wagering. Responsibilities

  • Perform systematic review and analysis of financial documents to assess the integrity of license applicants.
  • Provide financial expertise to the investigative arm of MGCB during the licensing process.
  • Participate in financial reviews of applicants and licensees as required by MGCB.
  • Interpret and evaluate personal and business financial data, including tax returns and investment portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with the Michigan Gaming Control & Revenue Act and other relevant laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any major with at least 12 semester (18 term) credits in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • One year of professional experience in financial analysis for Financial Analyst 10 level.
  • Two years of professional experience in financial analysis for Financial Analyst P11 level, including one year equivalent to Financial Analyst 10.

Nice-to-haves
