About the position

GDIT is seeking a Financial Analyst Advisor to join the Federal Health Finance team, where you will support multiple health and human services agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for advanced tasks in various financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis on a portfolio of programs with varying contract types. You will lead the creation of monthly and quarterly financial status reports as required by the operations team, and prepare and communicate monthly forecasts, risk assessments, and variance analyses to senior management. Additionally, you will prepare financial updates, Estimate at Completion (EACs), and other corporate reporting requirements during the monthly close and forecasting process. As a Financial Analyst Advisor, you will analyze both the monthly forecast and current quarter, as well as future projections. You will also provide mentorship to junior financial analysts as needed and act as the focal point for communication of financials between project management and finance leadership. Your responsibilities will include developing long-range financial models in collaboration with the management team, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as government regulations. You will maintain current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, and provide financial leadership to the business, helping to drive profitable growth, identify opportunities for improvement, and mitigate risks. Furthermore, you will manage revenue and cost adjustment submissions, ensuring accuracy and review of proper backup information.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for advanced tasks in various financial functions such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis on a portfolio of programs of varying contract types.

  • Prepare financial updates, EACs, and other corporate reporting requirements during the monthly close and forecasting process.
  • Analyze both the monthly forecast and current quarter and future projections.
  • Provide mentorship on an as-needed basis for more junior financial analysts.
  • Act as the focal point for communication of financials between PM and finance leadership.
  • Develop long-range financial models in collaboration with the management team.
  • Identify risk and follow through to resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as other government regulations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide financial leadership to the business, helping drive profitable growth, identify opportunities for improvement, and risk mitigation.
  • Manage revenue and cost adjustment submissions, ensuring accuracy and review of proper backup information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of related financial analysis experience.
  • In lieu of degree, High School Diploma and 12+ years of related financial analysis experience is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and levels of an organization.
  • Strong organization skills and focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and clients.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of billing and revenue cycle.
  • Ability to prepare/review pricing with recommendations for Management.
  • US Persons required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a government contracting environment and knowledge of various government contract types is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle, Concur, Essbase/Smartview, and Hyperion or similar size financial systems.
