About the position

Tallon is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst with a strong background in supporting Air Force legacy Financial Management (FM) systems. This position is based in Camp Springs, Maryland, and is a direct hire opportunity with a competitive W2 salary and benefits. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing financial processes while working closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their financial management needs. Your expertise will be essential in delivering customized solutions that meet these requirements. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of financial management, particularly with tools such as Oracle, Qlik, and Power BI, to analyze financial data, identify trends, and create visually engaging reports and dashboards. You will be responsible for executing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various source systems, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of the data. Additionally, you will support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, providing guidance and support to end-users. Your responsibilities will also include performing detailed financial analyses, reconciliations, and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards while identifying areas for improvement. You will provide financial advisory services, delivering insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis. Staying current with industry trends and best practices in financial management and technology will be vital, as you will contribute innovative ideas to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial processes. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring on-site presence 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients and stakeholders to understand their financial management needs and deliver customized solutions.
  • Apply expertise in FM, Oracle, Qlik, and Power BI to analyze financial data and develop reports and dashboards.
  • Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from various source systems.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, offering guidance to end-users.
  • Perform detailed financial analyses, reconciliations, and audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide financial advisory services, delivering insights and recommendations based on analysis.
  • Stay current with industry trends and contribute innovative ideas to improve efficiency.
  • Support a hybrid work schedule with 1-2 days on-site.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Current security clearance (Secret at a minimum) is required for consideration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Management Analyst within the Air Force or DoD Headquarters is required.
  • Experience working with Air Force SAF-FM is preferred.
  • Experience with Air Force FM legacy systems such as ABSS, AFEMS, AFM, CPAIS, CPAS, and CRIS is required.
  • Proficiency in business intelligence (BI) and data analytics tools such as Oracle, Qlik, and Power BI is required.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately are essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders are required.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality results is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines is essential.
