About the position

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the financial management and analysis of clinical business units within the organization. Reporting to the Director of Budget and Reimbursement, this position is responsible for assisting in the development of annual budgets, preparing workpapers for cost report submissions, and acting as a liaison between clinical departments and Finance. The role is primarily remote with occasional onsite visits required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of departmental and organizational annual budgets.
  • Conduct periodic financial management and analysis of assigned clinical business units.
  • Prepare workpapers and analysis for annual cost report submissions and reimbursement-related audits.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical departments and Finance, interpreting finance support needs.
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making for customer groups and leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of budget preparation experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of cost report preparation experience required.
  • Experience in healthcare cost accounting is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of desktop PC applications and general accounting software required.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
  • General knowledge of not-for-profit healthcare accounting and healthcare revenue cycle is required.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to assimilate and retain high levels of detail.
  • Ability to deal with an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter willing to invest time in a career and assume responsibility for personal growth.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
  • Ability to keep financial records confidential.
