The Financial Analyst - Budget & Financial Reporting position at Chugach Electric Association involves evaluating and performing financial analysis to support the organization's regulatory environment, business planning, financial forecasting, and financial management under general supervision. The role requires the analyst to implement methods for conducting appropriate financial analysis and assist in the development and management of compliance with financial reporting requirements and debt covenants. The analyst will participate in the analysis of accounting and reporting compliance changes and contribute to the updates of the Association's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) and Financial Forecast (FF). In this role, the analyst will perform analysis and reporting associated with actual results compared to budget and report on the financial implications of major transactions. They will also contribute to the development of the annual corporate operating and capital budget, analyze major capital projects' actual results compared to budget, and create budget status reports. The analyst will support the development of the Association's Treasurer's Report included in the Annual Report and annual membership meeting, participate in the development of the Association's IRS Form 990, and prepare financial reporting updates to outside organizations. Additionally, the analyst will assist in developing financing registration statements or similar documents, develop timely financial reports for other departments, support the conversion and automation of budget systems, prepare budgets for areas without cost center managers, and provide company-wide training for budget versus actual analysis tools. The role also involves analyzing financial transactions for compliance, ensuring data collection consistency among departments, and providing information to bondholders and bond rating agencies. The analyst will participate in financial information system conversions, prepare annual audit schedules, assist with internal control compliance, and manage special projects as assigned.
