About the position

This position is for an entry-level internship as a Financial Analyst Co-op at Collins Aerospace, specifically within the risks and controls team. The role is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant discipline, and it will run from January to August, including the Spring semester. It is expected that students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage in this working mentorship opportunity. The primary focus of this internship is to assist with tasks related to audit preparation, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, accounting and controls assessments, controls reporting and tracking, and other special projects related to the risk and controls functions. The mission of the team is to partner with the business to identify and mitigate risks by improving processes and strengthening the control environment. As a Financial Analyst Co-op, you will support financial activities across various disciplines within Finance, including financial planning and analysis, program finance, engineering finance, accounting, and compliance. Your responsibilities will include preparing, tracking, and monitoring financial data for finance-related activities or transactions, as well as preparing analyses for financial schedules and other ad hoc reports. You will also research opportunities to improve current processes and support continuous improvement activities across the organization, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations on all finance activities. Throughout this internship, you will have the opportunity to develop effective communication and presentation skills, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and gain a deeper understanding of business trends and their impact on business performance. This role will provide you with valuable experience in a professional finance environment and contribute to team projects, while also allowing you to learn strategies for identifying and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
