About the position

The Financial Analyst role within Google Cloud's Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) team is crucial for ensuring sound financial decisions are made regarding cloud infrastructure. This position involves modeling business scenarios, tracking performance metrics, and providing insightful recommendations to senior management. The analyst will work on multiple projects, focusing on both detailed analyses and broader strategic challenges, while supporting the growth and budgeting of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities

• Forecast infrastructure costs for the cloud business and contribute to monthly and annual planning processes.
• Collaborate with the cloud capacity planning team and work closely with multiple stakeholders to develop the capacity forecast.
• Create financial models for analyzing CapEx and OpEx trends for various cloud business segments.
• Influence key strategy decisions on capacity as a finance partner for cloud capacity leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FPA), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in understanding infrastructure costs for cloud related businesses.
• Ability to work with and analyze large datasets, building dashboards (Visualization) and provide insights to business partners.
• Ability to work in a fluid environment and comfortable with ambiguity.
• Ability to plan, execute and deliver on projects in a timely manner and to multitask on varying projects and initiatives.
• Excellent problem-solving, investigative and modeling skills.
