About the position

The Financial Analyst (FP&A, Marketing) role at Coinbase is designed to support the revenue-generating consumer product group and manage marketing and communications expenses. This position involves providing financial analysis, forecasting, and variance analysis to inform business decisions and enhance financial performance. The analyst will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to identify risks and opportunities, ensuring the financial health of the business while contributing to the company's mission of increasing economic freedom through crypto and blockchain technology.

Responsibilities

• Providing monthly budgeting, variance analysis and forecasting support to multiple stakeholders, including marketing/communication leaders and corporate FP&A
• Supporting with month end close processes and quarter earnings call preparation
• Leading finance transformation projects around month-end close, forecasting and other ad-hoc processes
• Conducting monthly budget reviews and annual planning exercises
• Leading deep dives into marketing and communication expense to understand their drivers and potential levers to enhance financial performance
• Performing ad-hoc marketing finance analysis to support business leaders
• Working with HR and Talent Business Partners to forecast headcount needs

• Strong technical skills - ability to use Google Sheets and strong financial acumen
• Typically 1-4 years experience in an FP&A, or strategic finance role or similar fast-paced finance environment (investment banking, asset management etc)
• Interest in the Crypto economy, Coinbase's products and a desire to continuously learn

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Anaplan and/or Netsuite
• Data visualization (superset or equivalent)
• Coding experience (SQL or Python)
• Marketing finance experience
